The desert is a great mystery. It’s literally desert and empty. At the same time, the desert is a philosophical universe, as I see it. In addition, the extreme emptiness and isolation, the lack of any human culture, makes you look deeply into yourself. The harsh contrasts we find in the desert, figuratively reflect our human life. Rich life, full of beauty; illness and pain; childhood and old age; life and death. The quiet beauty of the desert lets you look into eternity. At the same time, the desert is hard, hot, and merciless. It allows little or no life to develop. Nevertheless, there is peace, quietness, and freedom.
